Early Autism Diagnostic Services Now Available for Young Children

We are pleased to announce that we now offer comprehensive diagnostic services for young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), led by Dr. Laura Turner, Ph.D., LP-CT, BCBA-D, LBA-CT. Dr. Turner brings nearly 20 years of multidisciplinary experience in clinical psychology and behavior analysis, specializing in diagnostic evaluations and behavioral interventions for children with ASD.

Why Early
Diagnosis Matters

Early identification of ASD is crucial, as it allows for timely intervention that can significantly improve developmental outcomes. Research has shown that early treatment leads to better educational outcomes and lower healthcare costs. However, the average age for an ASD diagnosis in the U.S. is about 5 years, often due to limited access to skilled clinicians. Our services aim to reduce this delay, providing families with earlier and more accurate assessments.

Introducing EarliPoint™:
A Revolutionary Diagnostic Tool

Our diagnostic services utilize the EarliPoint™ Evaluation, an FDA-authorized tool that aids clinicians in diagnosing and assessing ASD in children as young as 16 months. Developed by EarliTec Diagnostics, EarliPoint™ employs advanced eye-tracking technology to monitor a child’s visual engagement during short video scenes of social interactions. This method captures and analyzes looking behavior at a rate of 120 times per second, providing objective data that enhances the accuracy of ASD diagnoses.

What to Expect
During the Evaluation

At Prism Autism Center, we strive to make the evaluation process simple, supportive, and child-friendly. Before your visit, we ask that you complete a series of questionnaires to help us gain a deeper understanding of your child’s development and unique strengths.

On the day of the evaluation, your child will engage in interactive play with our specialists in a safe, welcoming environment. This one-hour session allows us to observe social communication, play skills, and other key developmental indicators essential for an accurate autism diagnosis.

For children between 16 and 30 months of age, we also incorporate an advanced, non-invasive assessment. During this portion of the evaluation, your child will watch a series of short, age-appropriate videos while their eye movements are monitored. This provides valuable insights into social-visual engagement, further supporting the diagnostic process.

Following the evaluation, you will receive a comprehensive report outlining our findings and personalized recommendations for next steps. Our team is dedicated to guiding families through this journey with clarity and care.
