Kirsten is originally from West Milford, New Jersey. She received both her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology with Teacher Certification from Ithaca College in New York. Kirsten also minored in Deaf Studies where she learned American Sign Language and its relevance to multimodal communication. Kirsten completed her clinical experiences in both special education programs and public schools, as well as clinic based settings. During this time, she gained experience working with and treating individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Kirsten has worked with pediatric, school-age, and adolescent populations while treating a variety of communication needs. Kirsten has received training within the areas of receptive and expressive language, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), social communication, feeding, and speech sound disorders. Kirsten has a passion for providing access to communication for the student’s she works with as well as creating opportunities for their voices to be heard.
What brings Kirsten joy?
Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, reading and being with her dog named Finn.

Amanda McDermott

Amanda is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a certified Special Education Teacher for children grades K-12. She has 9 years of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Amanda earned her Masters in Education with a concentration in Severe Disabilities from Simmons University in Boston, MA. Before joining Prism Academy, she held a variety of positions within residential, public school, and in-home settings to help individuals with Autism increase their social, communication, and daily living skills while decreasing their maladaptive behaviors. Amanda has worked with children of a variety of ages ranging from 2-20 years old and has additionally worked closely with her clients’ families and caregivers to provide training and generalization opportunities.
What brings Amanda joy?
When not at work, Amanda loves spending time with her husband, son, and two cats! On the weekends, she enjoys reading, going for walks with her family, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Ashley Borysewicz

Ashley Borysewicz is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has worked with individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities for 12 years; her first job upon graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology was as a behavior technician with a birth-to-three company providing in-home services. Since then, she has worked in a variety of settings such as clinics, hospitals, group homes, daycares, other in-home programs, and different community locations with ages ranging from 18 months to 21 years. She is originally from Cape Cod, Ma and received her masters degree in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford upon moving to Connecticut. Prior to working at Prism Academy, Ashley’s role was a Clinical Director overseeing BCBA’s, LCSW’s, and LPC’s providing ABA services in homes and in the community. Ashley took time off to stay home with her son for 8 months after he was born before returning to a field that she is so passionate about and joining the Prism team.
What brings Ashley Joy?
When not working, Ashley loves nothing more than spending time with her husband and son, being with friends and family. spending time by the (Cape Cod) ocean, and all things Disney!
